Dr med. vet. Arnd Stelljes, Veterenary Clinic Bökelberg, on dicomPACS®vet:
“Our veterinary hospital has set itself the task of being able to offer - by virtue of specialisation - a comprehensive, state of the art small animal veterinary service to its clients. All our diagnostic practices are continually adapted to the latest scientific developments.
Our clinic has two areas of particular specialisation: orthopaedics and surgery. To minimise X-ray exposure and ensure the quick and reliable management of examination results, we have installed an advanced digital diagnostic system.

An AGFA CR 25.0 with a special veterinarian user interface by GIERTH X-Ray international was installed, while an Esaote Vet-MR system as well as an ultrasound medicine from GE was also integrated into our practice network via the PACS software.
The image processing software dicomPACS®vet by OR Technology could be linked directly and easily to our patient management system (Vetera by GP Software). Now all X-rays, MRI and ultrasound images can be easily displayed and processed at our six workstations in the treatment rooms.
The direct interface of the image processing software with our patient management system offers us preview images from all linked modalities in our Vetera program. Images
can now also be directly called up from the card index. After initial network problems affected loading times, the image transfer rate is now also highly satisfactory.
In keeping with the saying “To each his own“ we opted for the integration of a pure PACS software with a proven patient management system.
In my view dicomPACS®vet is a PACS programme that will fully meet our needs, now and in the future“.
