The battery-driven X-ray unit Gierth TR 90/20 Battery for use in the field combines the practicality of portable units and the advantages of state-of-the-art rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. User-friendly operation and safe application were the major objectives when developing the unit. One battery charge alone allows taking up to 300 images. The battery weighs only one kilogram and may be removed easily from the X-ray unit to be recharged. By using a second battery X-raying may be continued while the first battery is recharged.

The ergonomically designed unit weighing just under seven kilograms is easy to operate and provides pulse-frequency modulation. Thanks to the integrated DR interface the generator can be connected directly to digital X-ray systems.
