Dr Bernhard Klein from Munich about the digital X-ray with dicomPACS®:
"After a thorough comparison of various systems, our practice decided in October 1998 to introduce the PACS system by OR Technology, with digital X-ray and complete digital diagnostics incl. documentation. The entire installation including training took just 2½ days and was done during normal working hours. Since its introduction in 1998 the system has operated without fault or interruption."

digital X-ray system [Video]
Specifics of the image processing system
Digital X-ray was introduced to this joint orthopaedic practice by OR Technology. The image generating modalities, a FUJI FCR 5000 R and a sonograph, are connected to the image viewing, output and forwarding devices as well as to the archving systems via the network. This enables the user to immediately access and view the created exposures on both the 21" LCD monitors of the viewing stations and the 21" b/w monitors of the diagnostic station.
Conventional X-ray films are scanned with a high-resolution X-ray film scanner and saved in the digital image archive.
All data is constantly available on the 200 GB RAID server. Long term storage guarantees image availability as required by law. The interface of the existing practice software S+N to the dicomPACS® image processing system was programmed by OR Technology’s team of software engineers.
In addition a telecommunication station has been placed in the joint practice, which sends X-rays via ISDN to the Red Cross Hospital, Munich for OP preparation.
