PACS

HL7
Health Level 7 (Seven) is an international standard for communicating patient data. It relays exact, highly detailed instructions. HL7 is mainly used in hospitals.


DICOM
Digital Imaging and Communication in Medicine is an international standard for displaying, processing and communicating medical image data and data related information.


DICOM Communication
DICOM communication allows images of DICOM standard to be sent and received.


DICOM Query/Retrieve
DICOM Query/Retrieve executes search instructions and load images from a DICOM archive.


DICOM Worklist

This function relays examination jobs to the relevant modality, e.g. digital X-ray, CT or MRI.




RAID
Acronym for Redundant Array of Independent Discs - a RAID system, consisting of at least two hard discs, is able to store redundant data and is therefore well suited for archive systems. In case of a hard disc fault no stored data is lost. Modern servers allow the replacement of defective hard discs during operation.


DICOM Basic Print


This tool relays print instructions in DICOM format to laser imagers or other printer types.


WORM


Write Once Read Multiple is - in addition to a CD or DVD - a highly secure storage medium for long term archiving.


USB


The Universal Series Bus (USB) is a computer interface for the universal connection of external equipment such as keyboards, printers, scanners, cameras, flash memory etc. The USB has become the established standard for connecting external equipment.
